February 24, 2010 - Boston - A man who is accused of carjacking a woman at gunpoint and then crashing her car into a taxi was arraigned on Tuesday in a Boston courtroom. According to The Boston Globe, 52-year-old Michael Fitzpatrick held up an unidentified 31-year-old woman on Monday, and then proceeded to steal her SUV.
After driving out of the parking garage where the alleged crime took place, Fitzpatrick crashed the SUV into a taxi at the intersection of Cross and North Streets. He then drove the car into a tree. According to investigators, Fitzpatrick has been convicted for 16 different crimes in Massachusetts. When this car accident occurred, Fitzpatrick was out on bail for a drunk driving case in Orange.
Police have not said if the taxi driver was injured in this crash, but we urge the driver to contact an experienced Massachusetts personal injury attorney as soon as possible. Even if the injuries were only minor, the taxi driver deserves compensation for his or her personal injuries, in addition to pain and suffering.
