
March 17, 2010 - Boston - A firefighter with the Boston Fire Department suffered personal injuries on Tuesday when he was hit by a car. According to reports at The Boston Channel, the firefighter was loading equipment into a fire truck when he was hit by an out-of-control vehicle. The car accident occurred on Edgewood Street.
The driver of the car did not stop after the hitting the firefighter, and police are now looking for this hit-and-run driver. The firefighter has not yet been identified, but he was a member of Ladder 23 in the Grove Hill Station.
The unidentified firefighter suffered personal injuries, including trauma to his wrists and knees, but his current condition is unknown. Police have not said what hospital the firefighter was taken to, or if he required medical treatment. They have also not released any information on the make or model of the vehicle that fled the scene. The investigation is ongoing and police hope to track down the driver and bring him or her to justice for this serious hit-and-run accident.
