March 31, 2010 - Boston - A Boston woman suffered personal injuries on Tuesday when her car became stranded in flood waters on Interstate 95. According to reports at The Boston Channel, the motorist called 911 around 3 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon because her car was stuck and taking on water on the shoulder of I-95. Pictures from the scene show that the water had risen nearly to the car's windows by the time first responders arrived.
Police have not released the identity of the driver, who was driving a Nissan Altima. The doors of the car would not open due to the volume of the water, so pictures indicate that the windows were broken to extricate the driver. The unidentified motorist was injured as first responders attempted to get her out of the vehicle, and she was treated for these injuries at Lynn Union Hospital.
There is no information at this time about how the motorist ended up on the shoulder of the Interstate
