March 16, 2010 - Bourne - A rollover accident on the eastbound side of Route 25 seriously injured a Yarmouth resident, but she is expected to survive. According to reports at The Cape Cod Times, 67-year-old Marilyn Pietroicz suffered serious personal injures when the car she was driving crashed into the median and rolled over on the roadway.
Pietroicz was driving a Chevy Malibu on Route 25 when the accident occurred on Friday. The Chevy Malibu was extensively damaged, and first responders were forced to use hydraulic-assisted tools to remove Marilyn Pietroicz from the vehicle. The victim was airlifted to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, where she was initially admitted into intensive care. Her condition has improved, and doctors tell The Times that she is now stable.
Police have not said what caused Marilyn Pietroicz to lose control of her car and crash into the median. However, they continue to investigate to determine what caused the serious car accident. If any additional information becomes available, it will be added in a separate blog posting.
