
March 16, 2010 - Lynn - One man was killed Sunday night in a fatal single-vehicle car accident in Lynn. According to reports at The Daily Item of Lynn, 50-year-old Jose Urena was driving a Mercedes Benz on Western Avenue when he crashed into a section of Fox Hill bridge, which caused the car to rollover.
Urena had already succumbed to his injuries by the time first responders arrived at the bridge. Another passenger in the vehicle, a 52-year-old man, also suffered serious personal injuries, but is expected to survive. The unidentified victim is being treated at Massachusetts General Hospital, where is condition is currently unknown. Police say both men were ejected from the car when it rolled over on the Fox Hill bridge.
The car accident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on Sunday night. Police continue to investigate the fatal crash, but they have not released any preliminary details on why the accident occurred. It was raining at the time of the crash, so investigators will be looking into whether or not weather was a factor.
