March 12, 2010 - Wilmington - Police say a drunk driver was at fault for a multi-vehicle car accident on I-93 that seriously injured two people. According to reports at The Boston Globe, 60-year-old Richard Hall was drunk and had open containers of alcohol in his pickup truck when he swerved into oncoming traffic and crashed into a car driven by 56-year-old Howard Kaufman.

After the car accident, Hall continued to drive on I-93 until he crashed into a tree on the side of the road. Police have not said how far he drove from the scene of the accident. Howard Kaufman was transported to Winchester Hospital with serious personal injuries. Richard Hall was also seriously injured, and he was airlifted to Brigham and Women's Hospital. Neither of their conditions are currently known.

Richard Hall is facing a host of charges in connection with this DUI accident. He has been charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident, in addition to open container violations. His court date is currently unknown.
