February 4, 2010 - Norton - A 25-year-old drrunk driver injured a police officer when he crashed his vehicle into the police cruiser after the officer tried to pull him over.
According to reports in The Boston Herald, 25-year-old Timothy Wall Jr. was driving under the influence of alcohol when he passed Officer David Schelps going 70 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 140 around 1 a.m.
After Officer Schelps was able to get Wall to pull over, Wall put his car in reverse and crashed it into the police cruiser. The car accident caused Officer Schelps to sustain minor injuries. As a result, Wall is now being charged with:
Operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol (his second drunk driving offense)
Failing to stop for a police officer
Assault and Battery with a deadly weapon
Thankfully no one was killed in this dangerous DUI crash. We hope Officer Schelps makes a quick and compete recovery from his injuries.
