Drunk Driving Teen in Saugus Injures Four

March 31, 2010 - Saugus - A local teenager is facing serious charges after she drove drunk, hit a group of teens, and then fled the scene. According to reports at The Daily Item of Lynn, 18-year-old Angela Marie Morgan is facing a variety of charges in this DUI car crash, including fleeing the scene of a car accident, drunk driving, reckless operation, assault and battery, and aggravated assault and battery.

Police say Angela Morgan was attending a party before she got behind the wheel of her mother's Audi A4 and crashed into a group of four people who were also leaving the party. The car then collided with another car, which pinned the victims between the two vehicles. Two of the victims suffered only minor injuries, but two others were seriously injured. One victim was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital because of a leg injury, while another was taken to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital with potential injuries to both her legs.

Police say after hitting the victims, Angela Morgan left the scene and went home, where she was later apprehended by authorities. Morgan is due to be in Lynn District Court on May 12.
