
February 15, 2010 - Hadley - Four people were sent to the hospital Saturday after a serious car accident on Route 9 in Hadley. According to the DailyCollegian.com, the accident occurred shortly after 7 a.m., when the driver of a Volkswagen fell asleep at the wheel, crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a pickup truck. The car accident caused the truck to rollover, and the Volkswagen's engine landed separately from the car.
Four people were injured in the car accident. Three people in the Volkswagen, including Maxwell Rudenstein, Jacob Gilbert and Charles Young, suffered serious personal injuries. The driver of the pickup truck, 18-year-old Dakota West, was also injured. All of the victims were transported to Northampton Hospital, where they are expected to survive.
