Hit and Run Accident on Route 44 Sends Pedestrian to Hospital
February 5, 2010 - Carver - A male pedestrian was injured and sent to the hospital after being struck in the breakdown lane of Route 44 West in Carver in a hit and run pedestrian accident.
According to reports from ABC6.com, 52-year-old Richard Madden was driving a Chevrolet Silverado which he pulled over into the breakdown lane of Route 44 West near Route 58 in Carver. After exiting his vehicle, Madden was struck by an unknown vehicle which then left the scene of the accident.
Madden's injuries are considered serious and he was flown by helicopter to Boston Medical Center for treatment. Police are actively looking for the vehicle that struck Madden. If you know anything about this tragic hit and run accident, please contact State Police Norwell Barracks at 781-659-7911.
