The Houston, Texas based lawfirm of
Vujasinovic & Beckcom (with which our firm is very familiar) recently filed a lawsuit in California on behalf of four businessmen who were seriously injured in a 2010 Toyota Camry. One of the interesting "twists" about the case is that the Toyota Camry was rented by the businessmen from Hertz Corporation
and was also the subject of three different Toyota recalls.
In a press release,
Attorney Vuk Vujasinovic who represents the four businessmen stated that, "Toyota knew it had a problem with these vehicles long ago, and still the company is dragging its feet on properly addressing the problem," says Mr. Vujasinovic. "Hertz knew this was a recalled Toyota, yet it rented the vehicle anyway."
Toyota has recalled over 8 million vehicles worldwide due to unintended acceleration and braking problems. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ("NHTSA") currently links 52 deaths to crashes reportedly caused by Toyota's acceleration problems
