How Accidents and Carelessness Relate to Massachusetts Negligence Laws

If you've suffered injury from an accident, there's a chance that it may have been caused by another person's carelessness. If this is the case, you may be entitled to legal restitution. Massachusetts negligence laws have been put in place to protect you from those who act in a way that is dangerously careless.

Traffic accidents are often caused by the negligence of one or more drivers
. For instance, if you were hit by another vehicle at an intersection while driving through a green light, and the other driver was speeding through a red, you may have a solid basis on which to pursue a Massachusetts personal injury lawsuit.

This is because drivers are expected to operate their vehicles in a way that is consistent with protecting the safety of others. If the defendant hit you while running a red light, this is in clear violation of Massachusetts traffic laws and shows negligence on the part of the driver to protect the drivers around them.

Car repairs and hospital bills are not cheap. Why should you have to shoulder the burden of the cost when you weren't even responsible for your accident? A Massachusetts personal injury lawsuit may help you recover damages for medical bills, lost wages, car damage, and other considerations.

Traffic accidents are just one example. Massachusetts negligence laws also apply to hazards and to carelessness on the part of professionals and caretakers.
