March 17, 2010 - Andover - A number of car accidents were reported in Andover on Tuesday due to morning temperatures that dipped below freezing. According to reports at The Eagle Tribune, black ice was a serious problem for Massachusetts commuters on Tuesday morning.
The Eagle Tribune received reports of at least 5 car accidents in the Andover area, although fortunately none resulted in fatalities. The most serious of the accidents occurred on Lowell Street when a passenger vehicle crashed into wall. Several people suffered personal injuries in this car crash, and they were transported to an unnamed hospital.
Another car accident occurred at the intersection of Maynard Avenue and Salem Street in Haverhill. This collision involved two cars that crashed into each other head-on, injuring an unknown number of people. Fortunately, the injuries were not described as serious or life-threatening. This accident is believed to be linked to the icy road conditions.
Other car accidents were also reported throughout the morning, but none resulted in serious personal injuries. More details will be added on these crashes if and when they become available.
