Marlborough School Bus Crash Injures 17 Students
February 4, 2010 - Marlborough, Ma - A school bus crash on Monday in Marlborough injured 17 students when one school bus rear-ended another. The injured students were sent to several hospitals in the area.
According to reports in The MetroWest Daily News, a school bus rear-ended another while in the parking lot of a 4-7 grade school. 17 children were injured as a result of the school bus accident, with injuries that ranged from bloody noses to neck pain. The driver of the school bus told police that some of the children were fighting in the back of the bus and when she looked in her mirror to check on the situation, her bus struck another school bus that had stopped to let a pedestrian cross at a crosswalk.
The school bus did not have seatbelts.
Due to the large number of injured children, victims of the school bus accident were taken to several different area hospitals, but all have since been released. Neither bus driver has been cited for the crash and both returned to work the following day.
We are thankful that such a frightening school bus accident did not lead to any serious injuries or fatalities.
