One Man Injured in Lawrence Motorcycle Accident

March 12, 2010 - Lawrence - A Lawrence resident suffered serious personal injuries on Wednesday when he was hit by a car while riding his motorcycle. According to reports in The Eagle Tribune, 26-year-old Starlin Perez was riding a Suzuki motorcycle on Essex Street when he was broadsided by an Acura driven by 19-year-old Evelyn Sanchez.

The force of the motorcycle accident threw Perez from his bike. He was treated initially at Lawrence General Hospital before being taken to the trauma center at Tufts Medical Center. Police say he suffered severe leg injuries, but he is expected to survive. The driver of the car, Evelyn Sanchez, was not injured in the accident.

Police continue to investigate this motorcycle accident, as they have a few concerns. For one, the license plates on the motorcycle were listed in the police database as stolen. Investigators plan to speak to Perez once he's released from the hospital. There are also asking for any witnesses who saw the motorcycle accident to come forward. Police say the accident attracted a large crowd, but no one was willing to talk to investigators at the time.
