Police Still Looking for Driver in Carver Hit-And-Run
February 12, 2010 - Carver - A Brockton resident suffered serious personal injuries last Friday when he was struck in a hit-and-run accident, and police say they are still looking for the driver. According to The Enterprise, 52-year-old Richard Madden was standing on the side of the road on Route 44, attending to a problem with his vehicle, when he was hit by an unidentified car. The driver of the car did not stop after the accident.
A passing motorist, 20-year-old Chris Biggs, saw Madden lying in the shoulder, and he made the victim a makeshift tourniquet to stop the bleeding from a serious leg injury. Madden was later airlifted to Boston Medical Center, where his left leg was amputated. He also suffered a heart attack during the ordeal. Police are still investigating the car accident.
