
March 31, 2010 - Thompson - A young woman suffered serious personal injuries on Sunday in a single-vehicle accident in Thompson, Connecticut. According to reports in The Norwich Bulletin, 19-year-old Amber Phillips was injured when her car crashed into a tree.
Police have released few details about this serious car crash, but initial reports indicate that Amber Phillips was driving on Buckley Hill Road in Thompson when she lost control of her vehicle, drove off the roadway, and crashed into a tree. Phillip's vehicle caught on fire after colliding with the tree. First responders described her injuries as serious, and she was treated initially at Day Kimball Hospital before being airlifted to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Massachusetts. It's currently unknown if her injuries are life threatening.
The investigation into this car accident continues, as local police attempt to determine what caused Amber Phillips to lose control of her vehicle. It does not appear that any other cars were involved in this collision. More information will be posted if and when it becomes available.
