March 8, 2010 - Centerville - Three small children suffered serious personal injuries on Thursday when the car they were riding in crashed head-on into a pickup truck. According to reports in The Cape Cod Times, the unidentified children were not wearing seat belts.
The car accident occurred on Main Street in Centerville. Police have not yet determined who was at fault in the car crash, but an accident reconstruction team will be investigating to determine which vehicle drifted into oncoming traffic. The children are all under the age of 5 and they are listed in serious condition at a local hospital.
Police believe that charges will be filed against the victims' mother, who did not properly restrain the children in car seats or seat belts. The names of the parents have not been released. The driver of the pickup truck has not been identified, but it appears that this driver did not suffer injuries in the head-on collision. The victims' mother was not seriously injured.
