The Associated Press reported that the government received over 60 complaints from Toyota drivers who say that their cars are still accelerating on them without warning even after the cars have had the fix under the recall.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (the NHTSA) is contacting every complainant to learn more about the reports. The complaints, according to reports, have not been independently verified at this time.
Obviously, these new reports raise legitimate questions about the effectiveness of Toyota's "cure" of the mechanical problems that have caused incidents of sudden acceleration. Of note, the NHTSA has linked 52 deaths allegedly caused by Toyota's sudden acceleration problems.
