
March 22, 2010 - Abington - Two people were injured Saturday in a single-vehicle car accident in Abington. According to reports at 95.9 WATD-FM, the car accident occurred shortly after 9 a.m. on Route 58 near Wales Street.
Police say two people were injured, and both are believed to be elderly. It's also believed that both victims were traveling in the same vehicle. One of the victims suffered serious personal injuries, and first responders were forced to use the ‘jaws of life' to extricate him from the vehicle. This victim was airlifted to a trauma hospital in Boston. Police have not released any information on the second victim, including the severity of his or her injuries and where they were treated. Both victims' conditions are currently unknown.
Police continue to investigate this serious car accident. An accident reconstruction team with the Abington Police Department has concluded their investigation, but police have not released the results of this investigation, so the cause of the crash is currently unknown. More information will be added when and if it is released by the Abington Police Department.
