February 29, 2010 - Yarmouth - Investigators have concluded that the car crash that injured Yarmouth Police Officer Melissa Alden occurred because of the stormy weather that swept the area last week. According to reports in The Cape Cod Times, Alden was injured last Thursday night when she lost control of her police cruiser on West Yarmouth Road.
The police cruiser drove off the roadway and crashed into an embankment on the side of the road. Officer Alden suffered personal injuries that were not life threatening. She was treated at Cape Cod Hospital. Investigators believe Officer Alden lost control of her cruiser because of rain and heavy winds.
