How Do I Start a Credit Card Class Action Lawsuit? (Part B)

How many people are required for a credit card class action lawsuit?

There is no prerequisite number of people for a credit card class action lawsuit.
Some cases have had as few as 40 members. Generally, more than enough people to qualify will come forward when challenging a standard company-wide practice.

What can we expect to win?

All class members will get their share of any settlement or award. A credit card class action lawsuit typically awards members a percentage of their total damages. They do not share a percentage of the total amount recovered.

Class representatives receive the same amount as the other class members. There is, however, a provision whereby a class representative may obtain an "incentive award" for their efforts on behalf of the class. This is never guaranteed however, and can only be awarded by a judge as part of the settlement.
