March 4, 2010 - Boston, Mass. - A disabled man who was nearly crushed to death while working on a Massachusetts construction site in 2006 was successful in a personal injury lawsuit against the companies that were responsible for the unsafe worksite.
According to Boston Herald Derrick Daigle, 27-a former laborer with a learning disability-narrowly missed being killed in a Lexington worksite accident in December, 2006. The accident was the result of improperly welded steel on a worksite platform.
The victims' injuries necessitated multiple surgeries to his leg. Additionally, he had to endure several weeks of hospitalization and suffered a bone infection. He will likely have to cope with arthritic joints for the remainder of his life.
The company that constructed the steel was Novel Iron Works and Rose Steel was responsible for erecting it. Both companies are located in Greenland, New Hampshire and were named in the personal injury lawsuit.
