Man Suffers Serious Personal Injuries in Foxboro Drunk Driving Acciden

Posted on Feb 15, 2010

February 15, 2010 - Foxboro, Mass. - A driver operating under the influence (OUI) left her passenger with serious personal injuries after a single-car accident Saturday afternoon.

According to WickedLocal.com, 48-year-old passenger victim Scott Davis of North Attleboro was ejected from the crash vehicle after the driver lost control and hit a tree. Davis was thrown from the 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck, which then rolled over onto him, leaving him with severe personal injuries.

Police have identified the driver in the crash as Paula Wright, 47, of Richmond, R.I. Authorities said she was driving on the south Route 140 entrance ramp that leads to Route 95 south when she lost control of the vehicle. Wright's truck traveled across three lanes of traffic coming to a stop only when it hit a tree in the median.

Wright was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and suffered minor personal injuries. Davis, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered severe injuries in the accident. Both victims were transported to Rhode Island Hospital following the single-car accident.

Police will charge Wright with several criminal and traffic citations in connection with the drunk driving accident. Among the charges are:

  • OUI alcohol resulting in serious injury
  • OUI alcohol second offense
  • marked lanes
  • negligent operation of a motor vehicle
  • speeding
