Posted on Feb 09, 2010

February 9, 2010 - Seekonk, Mass. - Two women suffered serious personal injuries after they were involved in a two-car collision early Sunday morning in Seekonk, Mass.

According to ABC6.com, the injured drivers were a 56-year-old woman from Attleboro, Mass. and a 35-year-old woman from Pawtucket, Mass. Police are investigating the cause of the crash, and have not yet released the names of the two women who suffered serious personal injuries in the accident.

Authorities said the accident occurred when one of the drivers-who was heading south on Newman Avenue-suddenly crossed over into the lane of oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle head-on. The second vehicle then rolled onto its side.

The rollover accident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. and both women were the lone occupants in their vehicles. The crash victims were removed by local emergency response crews, who had to use the Jaws of Life to rescue the injured drivers.

The cause of the two-car collision is being investigated by the Seekonk Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
